Bryan Benn’s love for constitutions started at home. His father, Charles Henry Benn, was a World War II veteran and a former President of the Guyana Legion. Talk at home was about history, leaders, and the wider world.

Bryan was born and educated in Guyana, and he grew up in a time when politics touched everyday life. He later studied government and law at City College of New York, where he led the Government and Law Society. He went on to earn his law degree at Washington and Lee University School of Law.

In the early 1990s, he served as Legal Adviser to Vanuatu’s Mission at the United Nations, working on international law and human rights. Today he is a legal analyst, teacher, and public voice on how to keep power fair. He writes for ordinary people, not just lawyers, and he believes every citizen has a part to play.
